Making Healthcare Audits Digital

Working with our colleagues in the NHS we have listened to tales of hours, days and even weeks spent carrying out audits from the audit itself to data transcription and manual analysis of results.

We wanted to help make this vital administration process less painful and are really proud to have our first version of our drugs audit web platform. Developed with clinical pharmacists we are confident that the solution can save you and your team time and cost!

We Love Surveys have met the issues we were facing with audits, giving us more time to focus on clinical activity.
I hope this will be the start of more trusts looking at how they carry out their audits.

What is a digital audit?

To put it simply, it is the process of collating and analysing data using a web-based response system. Our healthcare digital audit solutions will transform your audit process from the complex and time-consuming, to the quick and painless. If you’re bogged down with traditional methods of carrying out your audits, you really should think about moving forward with a digital audit and making your life much, much easier.

Putting the IT into audit

For too long, carrying out audits has been a real pain for so many people. They hate doing them! We say it no longer has to be that way. Our digital solutions will give you live audit completion and real-time response updates, drastically reducing the usual administration time needed to carry out compulsory audits.

And have you been worrying about the amount of paper and printing you need for audits? Worry no longer, because our digital audits remove the need for paper. With digital reporting, there is simply no need for excessive printing and paper storage.

The benefits of a digital audit

The biggest benefit of making your audits digital is that it will save you more time than you ever thought you had. And it will save you money, too. Now that can’t be bad, can it? Here’s a few other ways it will help:

  • Rapid, real-time reporting

  • Improves efficiency

  • Colleagues can access the same info as you, at the same time

  • Data entry time-saving

  • Prompts and mandatory fields ensure accuracy

  • Comments are always legible

Digitalising NHS audits are our speciality

We have more than 10 years’ experience working with the NHS, whether that’s through our patient experience solutions, detailed patient surveys or healthcare digital audits. We have supported many healthcare providers across the UK – we know what we’re talking about and we know we have the right solution to make your life easier.

Our digital audit solutions are helping the NHS towards achieving their goal of becoming completely paperless. How are we doing this? Here’s a quick run through some of the features in which our solutions have helped the NHS with their digital audits:

  • The user can simply select the ward they are auditing

  • They are presented with standard questions which they are required to answer, such as satisfactory/not satisfactory

  • Smart question routing ensures required comments are not omitted

  • Our device asks for the name and signature of required people, which prevents illegible writing

  • Users can also use a smartphone’s transcription tool to complete any information simply by speaking into it

  • You can log in and print off the audit directly to multiple people. It can be fed back straight away, so now they are dealing with more timely responses, which is hugely time-efficient

Where our digital audits have made a difference

One of the biggest, and most exciting, challenges we’ve been presented with was when London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) approached us with the task of transforming their controlled drug audits into a fully digital solution. It was quite some job! But we were really happy with the results and, more importantly, so were they, including Sunil Dabasia, the principal pharmacist for the NHS.

Thanks to the digital solution we developed, we were able to address all the issues that LNWH were facing, ultimately reducing administration time on a huge level and allowing people to focus on their jobs.

For Sunil, our solution was a happy ending to eight years of constant toil over auditing and wondering: “There must be a better way than this?”

He told us: “It has allowed us to focus on clinical activity. Our time has been freed up to do more ward and clinical commitments, which is the whole idea of saving time, and it also allows us to look at our controlled drugs practise in ways we’ve never been able to before, for example across sites, and also looking at trends.”
