The We Love Surveys team had a fantastic day at Love Business Expo 2020, where we were delighted to see two of our favourite subjects hot on the lips of attendees: employee engagement and customer experience.
This was our first time exhibiting at the Love Business Expo, and we were not disappointed. The event, held at Holywell Park, Loughborough, on February 28, brought together businesses from across the Midlands to inspire, inform and motivate each other.
It was a golden opportunity for us to meet business owners, managers and those taking the leap into the world of entrepreneurship. We made new connections, kick-started some potential business relationships and left having made some amazing new friends. Top that off with great food, drinks and endless laughs, and it was a day well spent.
We started the day off in the best way possible, with hand-roasted coffee from 200 Degrees. We were set up on stand T14 and, boy, did the businesses of the Midlands turn out on the day.
It was a super-busy day for us, and we were thrilled to have had such a bustling level of footfall. It was great to see some friendly faces among the crowd, too, as well as some fellow Loughborough-based businesses.
The Midlands cares about employee engagement
We spoke to many people during the day about a whole range of things, but we were especially pleased that the majority of our conversations focused on employee engagement or customer experience feedback, two topics that are, of course, very close to our heart. It was really encouraging to see how much people really cared about these two subjects.
It was a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with the people we met and to talk about the solutions we offer businesses for their employee engagement and customer experience issues.
We were really inspired by the people we met who care so deeply about the experiences their staff are having at work, and how many businesses are seeking ways to embrace employee engagement.
It was also great to see how people recognise that technology can be used to make HR processes quicker and easier – as well as bringing lots of other benefits.
Customer feedback was a main talking point
In the ever-evolving, fast-paced world of modern business, it’s important to recognise and understand the ways in which your customers engage your brand and how they feel about their experiences.
The Love Business Expo enabled us to have some fantastic conversations about why gathering customer experience data is the first step to creating a customer-pleasing business. We were also able to demonstrate how technology is at the core of customer feedback, which in turn gave us the opportunity to showcase our revolutionary Buzz Boxes and what they can achieve for your business.
Just in case you’re not already aware of what our awesome little Buzz Boxes can do, and how they can provide in-store experience surveys, here’s a quick reminder:
Ask less than 5 simple, closed answer questions
Take 20 seconds to answer
Don’t need IT implementation so are quick and easy to set up
Can be fully branded
Give you real-time feedback on customer experience
Are ideal for fast-paced environments such as retail, banking and airports
We discussed the differences between point-of-experience feedback and post-experience feedback, and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
We’re really looking forward to following up on these conversations and looking at how we can help businesses understand their customers, and helping identify areas to improve their existing customer journey.
Why Love Business Expo stands out
One of the best things about local events such as Love Business is that it gives you the opportunity to meet like-minded people, who you can really relate to. We had so many great conversations and made lots of new connections that we hope to maintain into the future.
In our line of work, we’re lucky to get to work with people and businesses in all sorts of industries with vast arrays of backgrounds. But there’s something really special about getting to meet and learn from people who are local to us.
There were all sorts of businesses at the exhibition, but as we were the only survey provider there on the day, it was a great opportunity for us. What can we say? We’re one of a kind!
As well as the chance to get dug in and do some fab networking, a few of our other highlights included the coffee and lunch in the Mocha Communicates VIP Lounge, and the Caddyshackers’ pitch-and-putt stand.
Now, we don’t mean to brag, but We Love Surveys owner Helen Dargie bagged a spectacular hole-in-one to get her hands on a much-sought-after Caddyshackers drinks cup. So, if you know us and ever pop into our office, don’t be surprised if you notice it in pride of place!
Love Business Expo 2020 was, for We Love Surveys, a fantastic event which represented excellent value, and it was great to be present at a local event with fellow businesses.
We’re already enjoying following up with everyone we spoke to at Love Business and, hopefully, creating some long-lasting relationships and partnerships.
